With BW4 a lot of features have been migrated into a Fiori Launchpad based UI5 user interface. While the new interface is neat, clean and sexy, it is all but efficient for a lot of tasks that BW developers and administrators need to carry out for debugging or bugfixing reasons. One prominent example is that – as of present state – you can not select and delete multiple requests at once from a data target, but have to individually open each request to delete it.
In order to solve some every day tasks – or just to work efficiently – we need to revert to the “good old” transactions times, which are now a bit harder to navigate to, as RSA1 is not the central place of access anymore. On this page we would like to give a brief summary of transaction codes and program names to access the tools for BW administration tasks.
Transactions for data target and request management:
RSMNG – Manage data target
Manage requests of aDSO, master data (and OpenHub destinations) in the classic old view.

RSPM_MONITOR – Process / Request Monitor
With this tool you can search for RSPM processes based on various criteria.
With the button in the toolbar you can set the status of a process to red – which is handy to cope with processes that are stuck in a yellow state, but are in reality not running anymore.

RSDTP – Display DTP
Opens the old editor for a DTP from where DTP properties (filter selection, extraction and update settings etc.) can be changed, and the DTP can be executed or debugged.

RSPM_SET_REQUEST_STATUS – Set status of individual request
You can use this program to set the status of an individual request by request id to green, red or deleted.
Other tools:
RSMONITOR – Conversion Monitor
Opens the aDSO conversion (“remodeling”) process monitor. If you make changes to an aDSO that can not be applied using regular activation, you need to execute a conversion in the background. A conversion request is created automatically, which can be executed from here.
RSDDB_LOGINDEX_CREATE – Rebuild logical index / calculation scenario / calculation view
This program can be used to rebuild HANA runtime objects for your infoproviders, if they got invalidated.
Opening objects in old UI:
RSTRANGUI
Allows you to view a transformation in the old UI. Editing is not possible.
RSOADSO / RSOHCPR
Allows you to view the definition of aDSOs and Composites as XML and to reactivate them. (Note: the program behind the two transactions is the same one.)
Tools for reactivating objects:
These programs can be used to reactivate objects in quality and production systems directly, without having to open them or record the change in a transport request.
RSDG_HCPR_ACTIVATE – Activate Composite Provider
RSDG_ADSO_ACTIVATE – Activate aDSO
RSDG_TRFN_ACTIVATE – Activate transformation (and related DTPs)
RSDG_IOBJ_ACTIVATE – Activate infoobject
Note: there are also RSDG_*_ACTIVATE programs for other object types like infosources, OpenHub destinations etc.
